What's on offer?
- Mrs Mick enjoys her Aga and cooking almost as much as she does
riding and can rustle up anything from a basic picnic to a gourmet
hamper with a few hours' notice.
For B & B guests (riders or non-riders) good food is part of the
deal. Okay, you have to eat with us in the kitchen, but we won't expect
you to wash up afterwards and there will always be a vegetarian option
available.
Mick recommends steak and Guinness pie followed by jam roly poly and custard
- guaranteed to make you sleep well! For those looking for a lighter meal,
quail egg salad with couscous and raspberry creme brulee should whet the
appetite.
Dinner for two will cost you around £20 a head for three courses including
wine.
- Alternatively, we are blessed with excellent restaurants
nearby. The Horseshoe Inn in the village of Mildenhall is a
traditional country pub with first rate pub grub and a first-rate
restaurant. Further down the road is the Red Lion at Axford -
renowned for its good food, and the Bell at Ramsbury is within five
miles drive of the farm.
-
- Marlborough itself boasts a good selection of French, Italian,
Indian and Chinese restaurants, not to mention good English food
including the renowned fish and chips at The Bear.
-
- We occasionally do a picnic ride where partners, families, grannies
etc. can meet us at a pre-arranged point for a picnic. The horses
think this is great and far rather a tasty ham sandwich to boring old
oats! Phone and ask about these.
Breakfast in the kitchen!
