How to find us..........

We are thirty minutes from Devizes and Swindon, one hour from Salisbury and Bath and five minutes from Marlborough, our local market town. We have several riders who drive down from London at the weekend for a day or whole weekend riding, which is approximately one and a half hours drive away.

Our Winter yard where we stable the horses is at Ethelred, Woodlands Road, Mildenhall, and in the Summer our horses are at pasture in Church Farm, Church Lane, Mildenhall.

Click here for a map of the area highlighting Mildenhall.

(From M4 London)

SUMMER YARD

Leave M4 at Hungerford (Junction 14)

Continue on the A4 following signs to Marlborough. (Landmarks:  Bear Hotel, left hand turn to Gt Bedwyn and Bedwyn Station, Indian restaurant on the right)

After 6 miles take turning on right to Stitchcombe (small turning and easy to miss!)

Drive through Savernake Forest, keep to road, round a sharp bend, down hill and follow road to the left. This takes you down a narrow  road, over a bridge to T junction.  Turn left  (tiny letterbox on left) and drive a half a mile or so  into Mildenhall.

Once you have passed the village sign you will see a red telephone box on the right, opposite the cricket field, then just past the Horseshoe pub -very good for lunch etc - start indicating left and turn down towards the Church. The road then winds down to Church Farm and our yard.

Time from Hungerford = +- 15 minutes.  NB  some satnavs take you through Ramsbury.  This isn't the most direct route!

WINTER YARD

As above but turn right at telephone box, right at cross roads and yard is immediately on the left.

COMING FROM SWINDON

Take the A346 to Marlborough.  As you approach Marlborough (watch out for all the speed changes!) you will pass Ogbourne Golf Course on the left;  continue past Marlborough Golf course on the right and The Common.  The road drops down a steepish hill with houses on both sides.  Half way down the hill (The Green) take the left hand turn - telephone box on corner - signposted Mildenhall, Axford and Ramsbury.  As you enter the village, approx 1 mile, indicate right (signposted To the Church) for the summer yard and you will find us in the yard behind the church.  For the winter yard turn left up Woodlands Road, straight over at the crossroads and then immediately left.

COMING FROM MARLBOROUGH

From High Street, with Waitrose on your right, go down High Street keeping Town Hall on your left and at the mini roundabout turn left into Barn Street.  100 yards or so up hill at the Green take the first turning on the right signposted to Mildenhall, Axford and Ramsbury (red telephone box and letterbox on left).  After one mile, just past the village sign there is a sharp left hand bend – with a turning left marked Woodlands Road and one on the right  (no through road) to the Church.  Turn right here  past the Church, and into Church Farm where you will find us! IF YOU GET TO THE HORSESHOE PUB YOU’VE GONE TOO FAR!   For Winter rides, (usually from the end of November through to April) drive through the Village, past the pub and turn left at the telephone box (as above)

WARREN FARM COTTAGE  (Bed and Breakfast Accommodation)

From Marlborough take the Mildenhall, Axford, Ramsbury road, past the Queen's Head pub.  After two or three hundred yards there are some white railings on the left.  Turn left here (signposted RABLEY).  Drive for two miles (exactly!) until you reach a small bungalow on the right and a collection of barns.  Turn left here (an unmade road continues straight on) through the farmyard - past farm machinery, past another small bungalow, down a hill and the Cottage is on the right at the bottom of the hill. If you are coming from Mildenhall village, turn up by the red telephone box in the village, continue along this road until you get to a T-junction and turn right. Go past a sign to Whiteshard Bottom and when you get to the small bungalow on the right, start indicating left and follow instructions above.
